What to Expect
The weather should start to cool down just a little in October. With average temperatures around 23°C – 24°C during the day and 17°C once the sun has set. After the long dry summer locals are hoping for a little rain but there is no guarantee they will see it in the south, although anyone visiting the north will find if not rain, then low cloud most days which manages to keep the air moist enough to give the plants and grass a drink, hence visitors are often told the north of the island is green and verdant while the south is dry and arid.
Not too much going on in Tenerife in October, it is a time when the island takes a few weeks to recuperate after a long hot summer. Arona’s cultural events such as The Santísimo Cristo de la Salud festival still take place so you’ll have an opportunity to watch locals dress up in traditional Canarian attire as they dance and sing. In Adeje The Fiestas Patronales will be celebrated with a traditional ‘Romería’ when all the townspeople gather in the square to celebrate their heritage.
Update: See link provided by Clio O’Flynn in Comments below for the full Adeje Programme.
