The Bencomo – Los Abrigos – Tenerife

This week it was off to the Bencomo overlooking the marina in Los Abrigos.  It is open every night except Friday. Nicely decorated, little bit ‘Cornish’ in style with lots of pictures of lighthouses, shadow boxes, model ships, old clocks and pretty checked tablecloths. I also like it when you can see straight into the kitchen; you know they have nothing to hide.

There was a good selection on the menu, two of our group had the grilled Dorada and real chips, other half had the duck with rosti and I had the beef stroganoff and rice. I tasted something off everyone’s plate and it was all good. Mine in particular was very tasty and one of the guys wanted to swap his fish (hands off!!).

The main course was followed by pancakes filled with strawberries and hot sour cherries with ice cream.  It was a bit on the pricy side at €107.10 but that included 6 soft drinks, 3 jarra and coffees all round but not the tip which we left for the nice waitress and the chef who we chatted with.  Would I recommend, yes it was very nice and I would certainly go again.

Only downside – toilets were down a long flight of stairs and the lock was broken on the door – you know where I’m coming from ladies – trying to keep one hand pressed against the door just in case! Tel: 922749400  or Mov: 670818170
