The Wine Bar at The Harbour Club, Los Gigantes – Tenerife

On the days when you just don’t feel like cooking, especially when it’s as hot as it has been lately, one of the places we go to eat is the Wine Bar at the Harbour Club.  From where we live, it is a nice drive along the coast and parking is relatively easy on the road close by.

Although we have only been 4 times the staff Dodi, Theresa, Carole and everyone make us feel like old friends and they have done this since our very first visit.   There is always a warm welcome and as we are sitting down one of the girls whispers to OH “I’ll make sure there is some Apple Crumble and Custard for you” – not that he is predictable!!

The food is home-made ‘English’ but that’s exactly what I want on a Sunday some good ole Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pud. Maybe you fancy Turkey with all the trimmings and if you can´t make your mind up you can have a bit of both.  The puddings are mouth-wateringly good if you have room for one.  I would forego a starter to save room for their Eton Mess.  The quality takes some beating, there is plenty of choice to suit all tastes, it always looks scrummy (I like to nose at the plates as they are being delivered to other tables) and the prices are realistic.  €9.95 for one course, €12.95 for 2, and €14.95 for 3 courses. This includes everything on the menu so it’s easy to budget.

The tables are set out across two terraces.  The views are spectacular and as we have only been on Sundays Jamie Rourke who sings that night is my kind of guy.  His sort of music goes down well while eating, lots of smooth Cole Porter, Dean Martin, and Matt Monroe.

This Sunday was extra special for me as one of my favourite singers was also doing a 45 minute session before jetting off to LA to join a cruise.  Nik Paige, whose vocal range takes him through everything from Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons to Luciano Pavarotti with a few West End classics, a bit of Michael Jackson, Michael Buble and the Stylistics in there too.

No wonder this place is so busy I would suggest you make a reservation especially at weekends as if you don’t you could find its standing room only.

  1. Strange this post is totaly unrelated to what I was searching google for, but it was listed on the first page. I guess your doing something right if Google likes you enough to put you on the first page of a non related search.

    • Hi kindersportwagen,
What were you searching for? It would be interesting to know what Google picked up on as I am guessing by your name it was something to do with children and buggies and my days with either are long gone LOL
