As K9 relies on the local community not only for walking the animals in our care but in raising much needed funds to keep them we would respectfully remind you of several ways in which you can help us, to help them.
Recently we reprinted a 2nd edition of Boris & Friends, written by Susan Dehmel. The book makes an ideal gift for children and is available in English/Spanish, or German/Spanish. It not only helps with language skills but is also a colouring book so the drawings in the book can be copied. Susan has kindly donated the copyrights to K9 and you can get purchase a book from the following outlets.

Dingo Pet Shop – La Clave Book Shop – Papeleria (High Street) – La Paz Vet and Pretty Pooches Dog Grooming Parlour in Adeje

We are regularly asking San Miguel Council to help us find some suitable land that we could buy or rent within a 4-mile radius of our existing kennels as these have become harder to maintain. If anyone knows of somewhere suitable for animal use, we would love to hear from you.
We have a desperate plea to see if anyone can give Patricia a new home. She has been a member of a loving family for 8 years. Unfortunately, like many on the island, the bank claimed the house they were renting and they have been looking for over 6 month for a place they can rent that will take them all including Patricia. Regrettably, there are many landlords against dogs. Out of desperation, Patricia has been put into the care of K9. She is an elderly lady, used to the comforts of a family home and will be heartbroken by having to move into kennels and shared accommodation. Therefore, please if you or anyone you know can take a middle-aged lady with excellent manners and a good temperament, get in touch with K9. We now have a landline – No. 822106195 so calls are free. The kennel mobile is still 667638468.
As the above is a common situation if you know anyone who rents property that accepts pets contact us so we can put together a list we can pass to those who really don´t want to give up their pets.
And finally we would remind everyone that no matter in what capacity you help, K9 Animal Refuge would not be possible without each and every one of you so thank you for making our shelter a safe haven for all our four legged friend.
