What to Expect
After a relatively cool start to the year, the weather begins to warm up in March as the month progresses. As it is our Spring, there is the chance of an odd shower but these rarely last long. The average temperature for the north last year was 18°C with the odd high reaching 23°C at night these dropped to about 13°C. Here in the south the average for March was 23°C but we did see some hot days at 29°C and evening temperatures were generally in the region of 18°C.
The Carnival that started in the capital Santa Cruz last month continues to 5th March you can, therefore still catch

Los Gigantes Carnaval runs from Friday, 10th to Monday, 13th March with the Main parade from 5pm on Sunday 12th.
Los Cristianos The theme is Las Vegas and this event will run from 17th to 27th March.
V Edition of the 1 × 2 Bike Race from Pabellón Deportivo Paulino Rivero Baute, through the hills around El Sauzal to el barrio de Ravelo. (58km) March 5th.
4th Canarias Folk Fest Arona 2016/2017 –With crafts and food market, from 16:00 and performances by folk groups this traditional event is held regularly in Plaza La Pescadora, Los Cristianos, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, every two weeks, ending on Thursday, March 23, 2017. “Vamos de Pateo” is promoted by San Miguel council and will offer eight routes. Maria Callas an exhibition commemorating the 40th anniversary of the death of American Greek diva Maria Callas, one of the most exciting voices of the twentieth century. The exhibition includes unpublished documents, photographs, newspaper clippings, personal letters … – donated by Giovanna Lomazzi, who was a great friend of the legendary soprano, together with recreations of the costumes for some of the productions in which Callas participated.
