Things to do in Tenerife in June 2017

What to Expect

June and summer hits the island. The weather is sunny and warm wherever you are although in the Orotava Valley you may experience the odd panza del burro (belly of the donkey) a sea of clouds, but these usually disappear by lunchtime. Average shade temperatures for the south last June were 28-19°C while in the north 23-14°C and although slightly less still not too shabby.


Flower Carpets and Corpus Christi – The celebration involves making carpets out of flowers, salt and shrubs and laying them all around the streets near the town hall square. The main carpet usually takes up the entire surface of the square and is made using different coloured volcanic sand, which is brought straight from the Teide National Park. The Tinerfeña Federation of Bands begins its Spring Musical concert program. Like previous years, every Sunday to June 18 at 11.30 in the Chamber Hall, Auditorio de Santa Cruz  free entrance until full capacity.

VII Meeting Internacional Arona Pruebas Combinadas 2017

“Vamos de Pateo” offers eight routes. The next walk on June 3rd, – The summit of Bolico. Places are limited and registration fee is €10, which includes guide, insurance and transportation, emailing for details

Fenautica “V Guanche Cup” Regatta. The previous four occasions have been great successes, with a huge marine fair and additional events for children, food stalls, music, competing yachts, charter craft, and much more. First International LGTBIQ Culture Week will be hosted by Arona (When 5th to 10th June Where: Las Americas)

The Tenerife Bluetrail Mountain Race, billed as the highest race in Spain and the second highest in Europe, and certainly one of the most gruelling events around. Some 2,700 runners from 33 countries will run up, over, and around Mt Teide. Vanesa Martín returns to Tenerife to present her new album ‘Munay’ (When: June 22 Where: the pavilion Santiago  Martin de La Laguna. Tickets, from €25)

Tenerife Symphony Orchestra – Enjoy the OST often accompanied by guest sopranos and other talented soloists. They perform the works of well-known composers to make each performance a memorable evening can be enjoyed by aficionados and amateurs alike. (When every Friday until Jun 23rd 2017, Where Auditorio Adán Martín, Santa Cruz)

Chubby Brown, is back for one night only with his sarcastic, blue and controversial act. (When: 23rd June Where: Showtime, Las Americas)

Craft Fairs – Artesanía de Tenerife has announced the date of craft fairs for 2017 in Tenerife. The fairs, both small and large, sell unusual products from really creative and talented individuals, all of whom are officially recognised with a carné de artesano. The full list of dates is HERE
