Yellow Submarine Safaris. Experience the underwater world normally reserved for Scuba Divers. The stars of the show are the family of 6ft Atlantic Stingrays which can be seen through the large viewing windows 30m below the waves. The City Expert Company, Santa Cruz, have two free tours that run every day of the year. These show the attractions of the historic centre of the city and the Garcia Sanabria Park. The route through the historical centre is Monday to Sunday at 12.00 meeting point in the Plaza De España, while the Garcia Sanabria Park route, also Monday to Sunday starts at 14.00 leaving from the park’s floral clock. Both tours last approximately one hour and are offered in Spanish and English. To participate, just turn up at the meeting point 10 minutes before start time. Castles Route 1st Saturday of every month Experience history from the inside. This is a streamlined path, with actors and guides who will take you into the major fortifications of the island and tour the castles of Santa Cruz, witness some of the most important episodes in the history of the Canary Islands. Discover stories of pirates or the famous battle in which Admiral Nelson was ejected by the Spaniards. Visit The Ancient Walls Of Castillo San Cristobal – Plaza de España Santa Cruz. The remains of the old defensive city walls of San Cristobal castle have been preserved. The underground gallery has display boards and maps in several languages bringing the history of Santa Cruz to life and you can also see the Tiger canon that played such a big part in repelling the attempted invasion of Lord Nelson. The FREE attraction is open from 10 am to 8 pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Clash of the Titans Tour – Follows scenes in the film that used Tenerife as a location. The programme starts with Wrath of the Titans. From HERE you will be taken to a click to read brochure, a Google map of the route and a slideshow of the film. It encourages tourists to see the island through the eyes of Perseus and discover what Tenerife has to offer, with desert landscapes, subtropical forests, lava fields, beaches, and spectacular cliffs all co-existing side by side. The tour starts at the former capital La Laguna before heading to the hills and pine forests where some scenes were shot. From there the action moves to the crater floor beneath Mount Teide and the seat of the gods. After leaving the crater, you head for where Perseus battled with the Calibos. The route ends on the west coast where sea scenes were filmed at Playa San Juan and beneath the cliffs of Los Gigantes.

Astronomical Nights – Museum of Science and the Cosmos An introduction to astronomical techniques aimed at adults.The program includes observing the sky through a telescope with CCD camera;visualization of the seas, craters and mountains of the moon and planets, Saturn with its rings and Jupiter with its satellites; astronomical observation through binoculars nebulae and clusters; orientation by means of the stars, Polaris recognition and identification of the constellations visible in the night; the visit to the Planetarium with a special interactive program; handling and use of a world map; and tips on astrophotography. No prior knowledge is required. The maximum number of seats is 30 and the price is €8 per person. It is essential to confirm the date and reserve your place by calling 922 31 52 65. Sky Tents – Museum of Science and Cosmos after the day visitors have left the doors open to welcome groups of children (may be accompanied by adults) with their backpacks and sleeping bags to take part in an unforgettable experience.
